NO to Cockfighting

Help take offensive against the bloody and barbaric practice in which birds are pitted against one another
with knives or gaffs affixed to their legs and forced to hack one antoher to death for the amusement
and wagering of spectators.
The Humane Society of the United States Southwest Regional Office
has pushed for introduction of legislation into the U.S. House of Representatives to ban interstate shipment
of birds for fighting purposes. If this measure passes, it will prevent cockfighters from raising their
birds in states where cockfighting is illegal and then shipping them to Louisianna, New Mexico, and Oklahoma
where cockfighting is still legal.
Take a few moments to write a letter to your U.S. representative
and urge him or her to cosponsor H.R. 1275, the anit-cockfighting bill introduced by Rep. Collin Peterson.
